Bournemouth defender Ake happy playing for Howe: He makes me better

Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake is enjoying his football under manager Eddie Howe.

Ake, 24, has given a rare insight into Howe's training ground methods and how Bournemouth has helped him develop into one of the most reliable defenders in the Premier League.

He said, "He wants to make us better. That's how it came out in the clip as well and you could see what he's like as a manager.

“I have improved so much, learned so much and a lot of that is down to him. Trying to make me a better player. I'm playing good, there's still some things to improve, making sure I still make progress and he's always on my case which is always very good.

“Even if you have a few good games, stuff like that, he makes sure that we watch clips together and look for little, little things - even if I'd had a good game - he will find something to help me get better.

“That's perfect for me because, at my age, there's still so much more to come and he's the right man to help me improve."
