Bournemouth captain Simon Francis has hailed the work ethic of manager Eddie Howe.

Francis is one of those who have made the journey from League One with Howe.

He told the Daily Express: “I did think I would love to be a coach and do it the way he manages.

“But then I see the hours he puts in. I would never see the family. So I'm not so sure. I put in enough hours being a player!

“It is very intense, the way Eddie works. Not everyone can do that. To get to his level with the success he has had because of the hours he puts in – it almost puts me off.

“He is in at God knows what time in the morning, leaves well after the lads leave. You know why he puts in those hours - because he wants to be as successful as he can, and make us the best we can be."
