Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe is adamant Callum Wilson is England's best available striker.

Three Lions captain Harry Kane, of Tottenham, faces a race to recover from an ankle injury in time for this summer's Nations League finals in Portugal, which begin with a semi against Holland before facing either the hosts or Switzerland in the final or a third-place play-off.

“I would back Callum to make an impact at international level," said Cherries manager Howe. “When you look at his goals and assists, I have been really pleased with his performances.

“Any player, regardless of age, has to believe their best is yet to come and Callum certainly has the mind-set that he has in no way reached his full level yet. There is a lot more to come in every aspect of his game.

“This season his goals-to-game ratio has been very strong, he had complimented the team well, has worked hard and is continually a goal threat."
