Bournemouth boss Howe rues facing 'outstanding' Sterling after record goal

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe admits he's happy to see the back of Raheem Sterling after Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Manchester City.

Sterling became the first player in Premier League history to net in his first six appearances against a particular club, when he registered in the 3-1 win over Cherries on Saturday.

In total, the 23-year-old has eight top-flight goals to his name against Howe's men.

Howe told the Daily Echo: “He does well against us. He is an outstanding player who does well for Manchester City and England.

“He has the ability to go past people with the pace he's got and his finishing ability is of a very high level.

“He is a tough man to stop but they are a tough team to stop. The best coaches in the world build plans to try to stop them.

“I wouldn't say it's impossible because I don't believe in that word but it's as hard as you will get in football."
