Bournemouth boss Howe delighted with 2-goal Brooks

Bournemouth are back to winning ways after a 2-0 victory over Brighton.

Bournemouth had suffered seven defeats in eight before grabbing some Christmas cheer with a 2-0 victory over south coast rivals Brighton courtesy of a brace from David Brooks.

Brooks bagged in the 21 and 77th minutes, the second coming just after Lewis Dunk had been sent off for getting two yellow cards.

Cherries boss Eddie Howe remarked, "They were two great goals from David. They were totally different from each other but he showed his quality in both moments. We've been pleasantly surprised with his progress. We knew we were getting a very technical, intelligent player, but perhaps we didn't know how good he was going to be for the team.

"He buys into the team ethic and the defensive component of the game. The tactical understanding of how we play, he has grasped very quickly so full credit to him for that.

"Also, the ability to handle the Premier League and not get carried away with early season success and to remain level headed - that's a huge bonus. He's scoring important goals for us and that's a great sign for the team."
