Bournemouth boss Howe: Cummings deserved this

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe was happy with their friendly against AC Milan.

The game, which honoured cult figure Warren Cummings, saw recent loan recruit Jack Wilshere make his first appearance in an AFC Bournemouth shirt whilst there was a welcome return from injury for Tyrone Mings.

Howe told BBC Radio Solent, “It's really important that we don't forget the people that have done such wonderful things in the history of the club.

“Warren was one of the players who was at the club during its darkest hour. The club had huge financial troubles and I stood shoulder to shoulder with him through most of that period. He was a really infectious character and a great guy to be around.

“Warren would always play with his heart on his sleeve and I think that it's a really touching moment that the club have rewarded him with this game."
