Borussia Dortmund chief Hans-Joachim Watzke says Manchester United offered Erling Haaland a bigger contract when he was leaving RB Salzburg almost two years ago.
Haaland joined the German side from Austrian side RB Salzburg for £17m in January 2020 under the noses of the Red Devils.
Watzke though has admitted that his side's offer for the Norwegian star was "not the best".
The Dortmund CEO stated: "The offer from Manchester United was better.
"However, (agent) Mino Raiola realised that Erling is better off with us."
