Borthwick-Jackson, Darmian performances please Man Utd boss LVG

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal hailed the performances of Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Matteo Darmian following the 3-0 victory over Stoke City on Tuesday night.

United returned to winning ways with a convincing performance at Old Trafford and it was a very good overall display from the entire team which saw the Red Devils claim the victory.

Van Gaal was unsurprisingly left pleased with his side's showing and reserved special praise for full-backs Borthwick-Jackson and Darmian who were particularly integral in the comfortable triumph.

Van Gaal said: "It's Cameron Borthwick-Jackson's birthday, he had a fantastic assist, and also he could have had another. I'm happy for him.

"And also Man United, because we have a lot of problems in the full-back positions.

"I'm very happy [Matteo] Darmian could play again, and you see the result is better."
