Boris Johnson willing to help Crystal Palace

Mayor of London Boris Johnson hopes Crystal Palace can find a solution after entering administration.

The Eagles have debts of around £30million and Croydon's London Assembly member Steve O'Connell raised the question of their plight with Johnson at Mayor's Questions on Wednesday.

"I support you Steve in extending my sympathy to the club, players and fans and I know the good work you will have done to make sure Selhurst Park will remain a football ground no matter what happens," said Johnson.

Administrators are desperately looking for a buyer and O'Connell was pleased to see Johnson sympathise with Palace's plight.

"I welcome the fact Boris is drafting in Kate Hoey to see whether a solution can be found to Palace's current situation," he added.
