Wahbi Khazri wants a release clause inserted into his contract if he is to join Aston Villa, according to reports from the Daily Mirror.

Remi Garde is expected to be very busy in the January transfer window in an attempt to turn Villa's fortunes around and one of the many players the Frenchman is said to have targeted is Bordeaux attacking midfielder Khazri.

Reports claim that while Khazri would be open to joining Villa, he wants an exit clause present in his contract if indeed the Villans go on to suffer the fate of relegation.

Tunisia international Khazri joined Bordeaux from Bastia in the summer of 2014 and has since become a key figure for Les Girondins.
