League Two Northampton Town have appointed Aidy Boothroyd as their new boss on a one-year rolling contract. The former Watford, Colchester United and Coventry City boss moves to Sixfields with the Cobblers fourth from bottom in League Two, just three points above the relegation zone.
Cobblers Chairman David Cardoza told the club's official website: "We are absolutely delighted to have Aidy on board, and that he has agreed to take up the challenge of moving this club forwards.
"We were fortunate to have interviewed a number of excellent candidates. We took on board lots of advice and plenty of opinions from people within the game and the message came back loud and clear that Aidy was the best candidate for the job."
