Bolton veteran Blake ready to run Burnley gauntlet

Bolton Wanderers veteran Robbie Blake expects abuse from Burnley fans after drawing his old club in the Carling Cup.

Blake, who followed his manager Owen Coyle to the Reebok this summer on a free transfer, will return for the third-round clash in the week commencing September 20 - and Blake is fearing the worst.

"I'll get my tin hat ready," Blake told the Bolton News.

"I would've preferred it to be next season in the Premier League but it was probably just meant to be with the gaffer and myself.

"The gaffer did a great job there and, hopefully, he'll get a great reception. I doubt he will though, but once the game starts I'm sure it will all be forgotten.

"I didn't believe it when I heard. I thought Steve Davis was winding me up. I had to look on Sky Sports News to check.

"It's a great tie to be involved in but a very difficult game for us."
