Chung-Yong was signed by Megson for just £2.2million and admits he feared that the manager's sacking five months later could have had an adverse effect on his career at the Reebok.
"Gary Megson gave me my chance and I owe him a lot," he said. "I was sorry to see him go. It happened at a time when I was trying to settle and adopt Bolton, but luckily I met another great manager.
"From the first day of Owen Coyle's training I could feel this was a real manager who could lead us."
