Released West Ham defender Stephen Hendrie has entered talks with Southend United.

The Daily Mail says Hendrie terminated his contract by mutual consent at West Ham and is a free agent.

The 22-year-old left back joined West Ham from Hamilton for £250,000 in 2015 though failed to get the opportunities he hoped for.

Meanwhile, Bolton have asked to take West Ham's Josh Cullen on loan as well as Reece Burke.
