Bolton Wanderers captain Kevin Davies feels they've let down teammate Fabrice Muamba after relegation.

Davies, 35, cannot help feeling the team let Muamba down by tumbling into the Championship on the final day of the season.

He said: "We are absolutely delighted Fabrice has made such a remarkable recovery because it could have been so different.

"Of course we wanted to stay up for his sake as well as ourselves.

"I just want to bury my head somewhere."
