Bolton Wanderers have signed off contract Crewe Alexandra striker Max Clayton.
The Sentinel says Clayton has joined Bolton Wanderers on a three-year deal after the club agreed a compensation package with Crewe Alexandra.
The 20-year-old spent time on trial with Dougie Freedman's side earlier in the summer in the bid to earn a deal.
The two clubs have now agreed a deal for the Nantwich-born striker to move to Bolton after rejecting the offer a new three-year deal at Crewe which had been on the table since November.
Despite being out of contract, Crewe were due compensation for the striker, who had been at the club since the age of six, due to him being under 24.
The amount received by Crewe hasn't been disclosed, although the figure has been reporting as being in the region of around £300,000.
