Bolton play down Philadelphia Union link for Knight

Reports linking Zat Knight with a possible move to Major League Soccer have been rubbished by Bolton manager Dougie Freedman.

It had been suggested that MLS club Philadelphia Union were chasing the 33-year old centre-back but Freedman quickly poured cold water over those rumours in the Bolton Evening News.

"He (Knight) has never approached me and said he wants to play in the MLS; in fact, I think he wants to continue playing in England and do his coaching badges," Freedman said.

Knight has been with Bolton since he joined from Aston Villa in 2009 after beginning his career with Fulham in 1999. He has represented England on two occasions.
