Bolton Wanderers will step up contract talks with Johan Elmander this week.

The Mirror says Bolton will offer top scorer Elmander a new one-year deal this week in a bid to sort out the super Swede's future.

Elmander is having the season of his life with Wanderers, revelling in Owen Coyle's attacking style, and he has also become a dad - with his life settled on and off the park.

The record buy is on a massive contract after joining from French side Toulouse and Bolton want to keep him, but are worried about the financial strain of a long-term agreement.
