Bolton Wanderers have dropped their interest in Birmingham City striker Cameron Jerome.
The Bolton News says the Midlands club have put an £8million price on his head.
Wanderers made tentative enquiries about the former England Under-21 international, along with team-mates Craig Gardner and Roger Johnson, but stopped short of making bids after being quoted sky-high fees.
Coyle is looking to bolster his squad with quality but will have to be canny with the finances, at least until Arsenal, Manchester City or Liverpool make a firm offer for Gary Cahill.
