Bolton Wanders boss Dougie Freedman remains hopeful of landing Liverpool midfielder Jay Spearing.

Spearing is surplus to requirements at Anfield and Bolton are hoping a deal can be agreed.

"Jay is a fantastic player, he was our player of the season, and he's available," Freedman said.

"We'll try our very best to make it happen. If somebody like Jay comes up and the deal is right for the football club, then yes, we will be looking at that."
