Bologna coach Moreno Longo was unhappy after their 3-1 defeat to Sampdoria.

Longo was only appointed on Wednesday after Walter Mazzarri agreed a contract termination by mutual consent.

He said, “Unfortunately, we had taken the lead and then threw it all away by gifting two goals to Sampdoria. We must rediscover our balance and that strength to keep the game on the right track, not be so fragile in difficult moments."

Longo was asked why he barely changed any tactics or personnel from the side that Mazzarri had struggled with lately.

“We are evaluating whether to change system once Simone Zaza and Daniele Baselli recover from injury, but at this moment the team is in a negative loop and everything feels more difficult.

“We've got to work on the minds of the players as well as improve their physical fitness levels. We cannot have players who are exhausted after an hour of every match."
