Bologna chief Marco di Vaio insists a deal for Sunderland midfielder Emanuele Giaccherini remains on.

The Italy ace spent last season on-loan with Bologna, but is now being linked with Chelsea and Torino.

Di Vaio said, "With Sunderland, we have spoken already in late May about Giaccherini and the request is €4 million.

"We are also in constant contact with his agent and the situation is not easy. But we cannot speak of a lost player.

"Our will is to bring him back."
