Incoming owner and currently LA Dodgers co-owner Todd Boehly will personally oversee Chelsea's transfer plans this summer.
The American wants to spend a lot of time in the UK in the coming months, per Evening Standard.
Boehly wants to ensure the club have a great window, which would allow manager Thomas Tuchel to close the gap with Manchester City and Liverpool in the Premier League.
Boehly's consortium is close to completing a takeover of the club, having received approval from the Premier League to buy the team from Roman Abramovich.
The LA Dodgers owner is already said to have met Tuchel, with the two having a frank discussion about what the team needs to step up their level.
Centre-back Jules Kounde from Sevilla is still a prime target for Chelsea.
