Boca Juniors defender Rojo confirms transfer talks with Man Utd striker Cavani

Boca Juniors defender Marcos Rojo says he's spoken with Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani about joining him in Argentina.

Cavani's contract at Old Trafford is due to expire at the end of the season, having joined the Red Devils on a one-year deal after leaving Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer last summer.

Rojo - who is now a Boca player after leaving United in January - believes his former team-mate could become a "great star if he reaches Argentine football"' and will "do his bit" to bring him to the club.

Rojo told TNT Sports: "I spoke with him (Cavani). I played a little with him. We were together for four or five months.

"He is a great professional and if he reaches Argentine football, he would be a great star that would do Argentine football good."

While a friend of Rojo's has allegedly said: "Marcos will do his bit to bring Cavani to Boca."
