George Boateng fears this could be his last season at Hull City.
The Dutch midfielder, 34, is one of the highest earners in Phil Brown's squad on £30,000 a week.
But chairman Adam Pearson has vowed to reduce the club's £36 million wage bill and is unlikely to hand Boateng a new deal once the player is out of contract in May.
Boateng said: "The bottom line is that I enjoy being here and so long as the manager and the new chairman want me here, I would love to be here.
"But I believe that there will come a time when the club can't afford me financially.
"Then we will have to move on and just get on with life.
"But that's part of football and I've done this from the age of 16. There's good times and bad times and you have to deal with them."
