Blind urges Ajax: Let's go for Spurs trio - and Suarez

Daley Blind has urged Ajax management to think big when it comes to the transfer market.

Blind believes there's more old boys like himself eager to return to the Dutch giants. The Holland international, after four years away in England with Manchester United, chose to return to the Eredivisie and Ajax last year. It was a decision that paid off handsomely for both the player and his club. Ajax finished last season as league champions and also with a long Champions League run to the semifinals, where they were stopped by Mauricio Pochettino's Tottenham Hotspur.

Now Blind wants more Ajax old boys to follow his lead and enjoy the same experiences he's had since returning to Amsterdam.

In a 'question and answer' session with fans on Instagram, as quoted by Voetbalzone, Blind dropped the names of Barcelona striker Luis Suárez, along with Tottenham trio Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Christian Eriksen.

"You naturally think of Suárez, Alderweireld, Vertonghen or Eriksen. I think the Tottenham boys all have an expiring contract, so who knows, one of the three?" Blind dreamed out loud.

"It would certainly be positive. I did talk to Vertonghen about how he thinks about it in the past year. It is up to him how he deals with it."

Blind is currently in excellent shape. The 29-year-old has a contract to 2022 and is open to staying in Amsterdam long-term.

"I don't know if I will stay with Ajax for the rest of my career. That is also due to Marc (Overmars, sports director). Of course I am always open to thinking about that. But I don't know what the future holds."
