Blind: Fighting spirit got Man Utd back in the contest

Daley Blind praised Manchester United's fighting spirit in the wake of Wednesday night's Champions League win over Wolfsburg.

The Red Devils fell behind inside five minutes at Old Trafford when Daniel Caligiuri fired home for the visitors but responded well by creating plenty of chances throughout the Group B contest.

Juan Mata levelled from the penalty spot int he 34th minute before Chris Smalling came up with a close range winner in the 53rd minute in what was a fighting victory in the eyes of Blind.

"We created some great chances, but it was still 1-1 at half-time and after that we scored to make it 2-1 very quickly," he told MUTV.

"After that it was just about fighting for each ball in every moment, the team spirit was very high to win for each other and it was a very important three points."

United now sit second on the group table on three points, equal with all other three teams, who are only separated by goals scored. PSV are on top with CSKA Moscow third and Wolfsburg fourth.
