Blanc reveals he rejected Man Utd after Moyes sacking

Laurent Blanc has revealed Manchester United approached him to takeover from David Moyes in 2014.

The Frenchman was in charge of PSG at the time and the role eventually went to Louis van Gaal.

"I had a call from a director, I'd prefer not to say who, and some discussion," Blanc told The Times.

"But I was in Paris so it was very difficult for me to leave. We kept in touch but they went with Van Gaal in the end."

A former United defender, Blanc was considered to takeover as caretaker in December last year after Jose Mourinho was sacked before the club appointed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
