Blanc felt let down by PSG president Al-Khelaifi over Tottenham's Aurier

Former PSG coach Laurent Blanc admits he felt let down by president Nasser Al-Khelaifi over his handling of Serge Aurier's Periscope controversy.

Now with Tottenham, the fullback criticised Blanc and former teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic during a Periscope chat in 2016.

Blanc recalled to France Football: "A situation like this, it's not up to the coach to handle it. After that, only he (Al Khelaifi) and I know how I managed it.

"If it happened again, I would do the same thing on my side. Afterwards, there is the club ... In hindsight, I would manage this situation in another way with my employer. In this type of problem, the management must be in the same line as the coach. If it is not the case, it is very problematic.

"This case was a bad turn in our season and in the life of the club. But there will be more and more like that in the future ... And there have been since. More and more parameters make some players become unmanageable. Whether for a coach or a club. And everything does not come out...

"It will become more and more difficult to manage the players. The coach will always be a club employee. It is not up to him to punish gross misconduct. He can manage up to a certain stage in his locker room but afterwards, it is his leaders who embody the authority. And it would be better for the coach and the club to have the same vision."
