The Liverpool Echo says Blackpool remain interested in taking Simms in January.

The young forward scored 10 times for the League One side last season but picked up a groin injury on the eve of the play-off final.

Simms has returned to fitness to be named in three of manager Rafa Benitez's squad this term but the manager conceded the 20-year-old remained less than fully fit.

Simms remains in training with the senior squad but could be tempted by a winter move, should Blackpool - now in the Championship - make their move.
