Blackpool cop fine for playing unregistered West Brom youngster Daniels

Championship club Blackpool have been fined for fielding an ineligible player earlier this season.

The Seasiders landed 20-year old defender Donervon Daniels on loan from West Bromwich Albion on August 1 prior to him playing against Millwall on August 30.

At the time of the Lions clash, Daniels was not properly registered meaning the Football Association had no choice but to take action.

Blackpool have since accepted a £30,000 fine, half of which will be suspended, and the sanction was a fair enough course of action according to chairman Karl Oyston.

"The process and outcome is one that we feel is fair. We'd now like to draw a line under this matter and focus on the rest of the season," Oyston said in a brief statement on the club's official website.
