Blackpool 2-1 West Brom: Baggies reduced to nine men in away loss

West Bromwich Albion were unable to overcome the sending off of two players when they took on Blackpool at Bloomfield Road on Monday night.

Baggies defenders Pablo Ibanez and Gonzalo Jara both saw red prior to the half-hour mark as Blackpool managed to edge in front before finally winning 2-1.

Ibanez was sent off harshly in the 11th minute for a mere challenge on DJ Campbell with Charlie Adam converting the ensuing penalty before Jara was given his marching orders for a ridiculous challenge on Luke Varney.

With a one-nil lead and two extra men on the park, the Seasiders should have taken more control on proceedings bnut they did double their advantage when Varney tapped in just after the hour-mark following good lead-up play from David Vaughan and Eliot Grandin.

West Brom hit back with five minutes remaining through Youssuf Mulumbu but it was not enough as Blackpool moved up to ninth as the visitors stayed sixth.
