Blackburn youngster Keith Treacy has been frozen out of the Republic of Ireland squad since failing to report for a friendly against Lithuania in October. And now the 20 year old fears his international career could be over as a result of his row with Ireland Under-21 boss Don Givens.
Treacy told the Irish Daily Star: "There were crossed wires somewhere along the line and I've been made out here as a bad boy. I rang Don when the squad for (February's) Germany game came out and apologised about the whole situation.
"That wasn't good enough for him - he told me he'd never play in his team again and put the phone down on me.
"I'm finding this very hard to take. Playing for my country means everything for me and I've been doing it since I was 14."
