Blackburn Rovers are putting Benni McCarthy up for sale.
The Daily Mail says McCarthy's wish to quit Blackburn in January could be wrecked by Rovers demanding £3.5million for the 31-year-old.
South Africa striker McCarthy has made just four league appearances this season and Rovers manager Sam Allardyce said: "At his age I'd understand if he wants to play first-team football. At the moment, he can't get it here.
"There is a price to be met if someone wants to buy Benni McCarthy. But we would have to have a replacement for him to allow it to develop."
