Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce will step up talks with Chelsea this week for Franco di Santo.
The Mirror says Allardyce has targeted Di Santo after being quoted £9m for Zenit St Petersburg's Pavel Pogrebnyak.
The Blackburn boss believes that Zenit's asking price is too high for a player who has just one year left on his contract and hopes he can tempt Di Santo, who scored in Chelsea's 2-0 win over Club America, with a season-long loan deal and the promise of regular first-team football.
