Blackburn Rovers are keeping hold of Ben Brereton Diaz - for now.

Rovers have activated the one-year option in Ben Brereton Diaz's contract, which was due to expire next month.

The Chile international has emerged as a reported transfer target for Everton and Newcastle in recent months, though no club will be able to sign the 23-year-old on a free transfer now as a result of this extension.

Brereton Diaz enjoyed a successful 2021/22 season with Rovers, scoring 22 Championship goals in total.
