New Blackburn Rovers boss Paul Lambert is eyeing a winter loan for Louis Thompson.

Reports suggest that the former Canaries manager is hoping to land the 20-year-old midfielder on a temporary deal in January.

Thompson is currently on loan at Swindon Town but Lambert wants him at Ewood Park for the remainder of the Championship campaign and is likely to make a play for him when the next transfer window opens.

The Wales U21 international is the younger brother of Swindon captain Nathan Thompson and has made seven League One appearances for the Robins so far this term.
