Blackburn Rovers striker Roque Santa Cruz has undergone surgery on his troublesome knee.

Santa Cruz had a minor operation to clean out his knee and according to reports from the club, everything went well.

A date for his return has not been set as stated by Rovers boss Sam Allardyce.

"The news is positive and we will see how the knee responds but the long-term prognosis is excellent," Allardyce told the club's official website.
