Despite saying Blackburn Rovers were gone under his charge, skipper Ryan Nelsen is backing former gaffer Paul Ince to soon to return to management.

The Kiwi said: "We were a sinking ship before Sam (Allardyce) came. It doesn't matter what reputation you have, results are everything in the Premier League.

"I'm sure Paul looks back and is extremely disappointed, but it will have done him the world of good and I think all he needs now is another chance.

"The lessons he will have learned mean he will definitely be a success in the future - I am 100 per cent sure of that."
