Blackburn seek to trump Sunderland for Spurs striker Bent

Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce could trump Sunderland for Tottenham striker Darren Bent.

The Sun says Blackburn are desperate to find a forward with Premier League experience before the start of the season after letting Roque Santa Cruz and Matt Derbyshire go.

Rovers boss Big Sam has around £13million to spend and that should be enough to persuade Spurs to do a deal.

Bent, 25, is a player White Hart Lane chief Harry Redknapp is willing to cash in on to fund his own re-building plans.

Allardyce has a list of five or six forwards he is interested in.
