Blackburn's Bowyer re-iterates stance on goal ace Rhodes

Blackburn Rovers manager Gary Bowyer has made it vehemently clear that Jordan Rhodes is going nowhere.

Rumours surfaced recently that perhaps the Lancashire club were set to loan the Scotland striker to Championship high-fliers Derby County and Middlesbrough but Bowyer has poured cold water over that notion.

Rhodes came up with the winning goal as Rovers edged Bolton 1-0 at Ewood Park on Wednesday night which prompted the following words from the boss.

"If it was a maths equation question it just wouldn't add up, would it," said Bowyer.

"Why would you loan our top scorer out?

"He's just scored the winner and will be starting at Charlton."

Bowyer added: "He just handles the speculation enormously well.

"In the summer window he was supposed to be off and he scored against Bournemouth so I was quietly confident of him scoring tonight because that's what he does when there's all the paper talk."
