Blackburn risk losing Canadian starlet David Hoilett

Blackburn Rovers are sweating over a work permit for Canadian teenage striker David Hoilett.

The Lancashire Telegraph says the forward has been on loan from Rovers in Germany for the past two seasons but, after impressing Sam Allardyce earlier this season, is now wanted back in East Lancashire for the remaining year on his contract.

After spending 2007/08 on loan at SC Paderborn, Hoilett has been a revelation in Bundesliga 2, scoring six goals for St Pauli, and Rovers believe the striker is worth persevering with.

Their attempts to bring him back though have hit problems as the task of getting a work permit for him continues to trouble them.
