Blackburn ready to turn to off contract quartet

Blackburn Rovers are ready to step up talks with their off contract players.

While Rovers await a decision on their final offer to Canadian starlet Junior Hoilett, serious negotiations have yet to start with David Dunn, Morten Gamst Pedersen, Steven Reid and Frank Fielding, says the Lancashire Telegraph.

Chairman John Williams and boss Sam Allardyce will hold talks on the futures of these four over the next six weeks though, with players free to talk to overseas clubs come January.

Should contracts not be immediately offered, Rovers would still face the quandary of whether to cash in and attempt to off-load them in January, or let their contracts run down and risk losing them for nothing come the summer.
