Blackburn No2 McDonald delighted with Reid comeback

Blackburn Rovers No2 Neil McDonald was delighted for Steven Reid after his comeback match this week.

The Republic of Ireland international got through 70 minutes and scored his first goal since May 2006 on his Ewood return to first team in Rovers' 5-2 win over Peterborough United.

"Steven did well and he's played some good stuff, played some good passing and ran about which is really good," McDonald told Radio Rovers.

"He contributed very much and it is great to see him get through 75 minutes.

"We didn't really want him to play much more as it was his first game for a while.

"So we'll build that up for him and he'll get stronger and stronger as he goes along."
