Blackburn midfielder Dunn happy with new contract

David Dunn was delighted to sign his new Blackburn Rovers contract last week.

Dunn admits he could have looked elsewhere in a bid to 'make a quick buck' but is adamant staying at his boyhood club was the right move - both personally and professionally.

"I am very happy to sign the extension," he said. "The reason I signed for this club was because it is a really good club here.

"Although the transfer fees aren't like they were when Jack was around, there are a lot worse places to be than this club.

"We can now start looking up the table for the first time.

"Being on a free in the summer I could probably have cashed in a little bit but this is the place where I play my best football.

"This is where I wanted to be, I am settled here and all my family and friends are here, my kids go to school here - it was the right thing to do.

"Not only that but I feel we can kick on a little bit as well."
