Blackburn make offer for mystery striker

Blackburn Rovers have made an offer for an unnamed striker.

It is understood they have now made an offer for another forward, although they are refusing to reveal his identify for fear of alerting other clubs, says the Lancashire Telegraph.

Rovers are still considering whether to make a bid for Bulgarian striker Ivelin Popov, who has returned to Litex Lovech after a trial, and they have also been linked with Bolton wide man Matt Taylor. But, while Allardyce is thought to admire the left footer, no move is imminent.

Rovers have denied an interest in Jonathan Greening.
