Blackburn Rovers boss Jon Dahl Tomasson is seeking better from Leicester City striker George Hirst.
A pause to the season and a chance to start afresh may be just what he needs, Tomasson has said after Hirst scored twice in a friendly against Scottish side Hearts on Friday. The 23-year-old struck a volley and finished a one-on-one in the 4-0 victory in Marbella.
“When you have a squad there are of course players who play more than others," Tomasson told the Lancashire Telegraph. “George hasn't played as much but he's been working hard, stayed with a great attitude, like a lot of those boys who haven't played as much.
“This is a little bit of a reset button for some of the lads. They need to show quality and to grab the chance in a way. Now is the chance to get minutes and catch my eye."
