Blackburn Rovers' success in the summer market has convinced Benni McCarthy to stick around, says manager Mark Hughes.

The South African striker, 29, has admitted he wants Champions League football again and his old Porto boss Jose Mourinho would like him at Chelsea.

But with the transfer window set to close next week, Rovers boss Hughes said: "I think he's excited by what we've done with the squad and knows that he's at a good club."
