Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce admits he still wants to move on Jason Roberts.
Roberts, 32, could face his old club Wigan today and put himself back in the shop window after demanding a move to gain regular first-team football.
Boss Big Sam said: "The disappointing thing for Jason was nobody bid for him, which was surprising for a player of his capabilities.
"We didn't particularly love each other when he said he wanted to go and I said he could. It never happened. I thought it would be a done deal but it wasn't.
"When January comes round we will look at the situation. It depends what Jason does between now and then."
