Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce hopes to be in charge for their clash with Liverpool next weekend.

Allardyce had successful heart surgery yesterday and is due to be discharged today.

An Ewood source told The Sun: "We were told late morning the op had gone well.

"Knowing Sam, he'll want to be involved against Chelsea but we want him to be careful and take things easy.

"We just feel Liverpool next Saturday is a more realistic target for him."
